This is going to be a random blog because I've been home from work sick for the past two days and I'm kind of bored. Yesterday was horrible with a fever and terrible sore throat, today just a sore throat. I was really close to going in today, but since my fever only broke yesterday and it REALLY frustrates me when other co-workers come in sick spreading all their nasty germs, I thought one more day would be better for me AND my co-workers. Plus, I accrue sick days and I already have about 20 sick days accrued. (Can you tell I'm justifying and feel guilty??) So I thought that I should blog even if I don't have fun pictures :(.
We went to Chick-fil-a a few weekend ago in CALIFORNIA! I was so excited!! Chick-fil-a wasn't necessarily one of my favorites when we lived in VA, but now that the closest one is two hours away I get really excited when we're back east and can eat there. So anyways, we were on our way to Tahoe and stopped in Fairfield, CA where there is a chick-fil-a in the mall there. I practically ran to get there. I think I was a little bit afraid that it didn't actually exist. I had great plans to take this really cheesy photo and blog about it..but I left my camera in the car. I also had great plans to take fun snowboarding pictures...but once again, forgot my camera. We have a couple of people coming to visit us in the upcoming months so I will be better about it then!
In other news my car reached 150,000 miles a few days ago. I have been the sole owner of that car and it's quickly approaching 10 years old. I love that car, I wasn't always so appreciative of my car, but once gas prices sky-rocketed I was sold. My mom, being the wise woman that she is, paid attention to that stuff even when it cost me only $13 to fill up the tank (Now it's like $30/$35). Also, I've been really hard on that car. I have never had a "tune-up", I actually don't even know what that entails. I wasn't that good about getting the oil changed on a regular schedule. I learned how to drive a manual on that car and the clutch is still working (we think it's on the fritz..but it still goes into 1st gear so that's ok right?). The only work we've had done is maintenance stuff like getting the brakes replaced (at 8 years old) and belts replaced (at 9 1/2 years). The only bad thing is that the tires are TINY (Graham jokes that we buy them at the huffy bicycle store), so we have to replace them often and it is quite scary to drive that car in the rain. If it were 4-door I imagine I would have that car for ten more years.
Well, sorry to bore you with a photoless blog :( Better Luck next time!
