Bee sting

Graham is mildly allergic to bee stings. No life threatening reactions yet, just major swelling of the body part where the sting occurred. We hope that the reactions never get to the life threatening stage where we need to carry around an epi pen, but when do you carry those around? He hasn't needed one yet, but there is always a first time right? Anyways, he got stung on his ear at work on Friday working in the corn fields. He took some benadryl right away and there was no swelling so we thought he was in the clear and that his allergy had disappeared. However he woke up on Saturday to an ear looking like this:

(he got stung on the left ear if you can't tell...and I only say this because no one else seems to notice)

I think it's quite comical, but sadly it's really irritating to Graham and hurts. Hopefully no more bee stings in the near future.

Summer time!

It finally feels like summer is here!! Some of you may be thinking..."you live in California, isn't it summer time 9 months out of the year?" Well yes and no. Yes, it rarely drops below 48 degrees during winter. Not too shabby. No, it has continued to be in the 60's through May and we had quite a bit of rain in May compared to last year. Now I am no California weather trend expert as this was only my second spring here, but it was rainier and colder than I expected. None the less, summer is here!! It was about 90 degrees today with low to no humidity. I spent about 3 hours outside laying out and reading my book!! Hopefully all of my weekends from now until September can be spent the same way. And now I'll leave you with a picture of me and my new sun hat! Perfect for protecting my scalp and my face during my lounging sessions!

What do you think? So cute or no cute? Graham says it makes me look like an old lady! :(
