Our Move out West

Saying good-bye to Blacksburg
Well the time has come for us to move to California. So far it's been an emotional one for me having to say good-bye to friends and family for a while and having them be so far away. But we have some exciting plans for our cross country trip and we wanted to share them with everybody and this seemed like the way to do it. We hope you enjoy!

Graham driving the Penske Truck

Graham is a pro at driving this 16' truck with a car-tow attached. On the other hand, I was a ball of nerves for the first hour or so of driving. Not to mention we both had to drive through torrential down pours and lightning.

Graham and Niki, Have a safe trip. Niki you look natural behind the wheel, you two could always become a husband and wife tractor trailer drivers, just until the babies start arriving.

Dear Niki (& Graham), You look like a "natural" behind the wheel!! (I already knew that Graham had prior experience driving a big truck.)
Thanks for sharing your trip out west with us in pictures and dialog.
My prayer for you is that this journey will be a special time of joy and discovery and a wonderfully fond memory for you both.
love and hugs and kisses,
Bill

Please come home!! Just kidding-Go West Young People-it is alot easier than it was in the 1800's, I would have been extremely worried back then but the blog would have helped to alleviate those fears-it might have been a smoke blog.

I'll try not to be redundant but definitely echo the feelings that this becomes one of the times of your life and a satisfying adventure and journey.

Thanks for thinking of me when you heard Johnny Cash, everyone here only thinks of me when they see porta toilets. Sorry I took the Dad name Bill we should have done Dad1 and Dadalso. Have fun and watch the road.

Hi Guys! Niki I told your Mom that I can't wait to get to work each day to open your blog to see what the adventure was for the day before. I am thouroughly enjoying it, as the destinations you & Graham have been to, I have never seen. The pictures you guys are taking are great!! Hope you will continue to share your adventure once you get to California too. Be safe and don't lose too much $$ in Las Vegas. Ms. Susan

Hi Niki and Graham, What an awesome time you must be having. You would be very brave to go down the Canyon on a donkey. One misstep.....Don, the old grump that works for me has done it several times. He said it was great fun. I'm just not that brave. It looked like it was a little cool since you have on a sweatshirt. I received your two postcards. Thanks so much. Jane's comment about you two driving tractor trailers is funny. You probably don't remember but your dad and I had friends (a couple) who did just that. Crick and Crock. I often wonder what happened to them. Have fun in Las Vegas. I can't wait for the next report. Love you, Mom.

Graham, I know I'm old so my opinion doesn't count...I like the glasses and think you should get Niki a pair, maybe even a pair every year in her stocking.
