New Apartment

In January Graham and I moved into our new apartment in Mountain View, California. It's nice to have our own place but we do miss the company of living with Bobby and Ethel. That was such a blessing and a great time in our lives!! Now, however, we live a mile away from two separate In-N-Out's (bad news for us since it's so delicious) and really close to all kinds of shops and restaurants. Out of our office window you can see an elementary school playground so it feels very "neighborhoody". We live on an end unit so we have windows on three sides and only share one wall with our neighbors (not including the ceiling). We are still in the process of moving in and getting organized but we will welcome anyone who wants to visit us! I've taken multiple pictures of each room from different angles to help you get a better idea of what our apartment is like.

Dining area (lemons on the table are from the lemon tree at my work!)

Dining room angle two with slight views of living room and kitchen.

Dining room angle 3 with our new kitchen cart from Ikea!! Super excited to have access to our stand mixer finally!

Our oven is nice and wide and our refrigerator is pretty new!

Other side of the kitchen. The microwave is now actually on the kitchen cart.

Our Coat Closet converted into a pantry.

Looking out from the kitchen into the living room. Hopefully sometime soon we'll put pictures up on the walls so they are not so bland.

Behind the chair is the sliding glass doors out to our balcony. We don't have a T.V. so we set the computer up in the living room so we could watch DVD's and sit on the couch. Someday this will change. Either when we get something comfy to sit on in the office...or when we get a T.V. Whichever comes first.

Bathroom looking out.

Our bedroom angle 1. I forgot how much I loved our mattress! So comfortable!! (new lamps courtesy of Bob and Ethel)

Our bedroom angle 2. We were able to put the mirror on the dresser this time instead of hanging it in the living room like we did in our old apartment.

Bedroom angle 3. The closet is larger than it appears.

Bedroom angle 4. Looking into the hallway.

We used our office as a staging room so it's still very messy!

We had to buy a new office chair because our last one broke!

Mirror shot to help you get the whole picture.

Not pictured here is the balcony which we are excited to use in the spring, summer, and fall for coffee on weekend mornings and wine on weekend evenings. Also not pictured are two additional closets. 1 linen closet and 1 random closet that has lots of shelves and is housing all of the things that we don't know where to put otherwise :). To really get the feel of our new apartment...you should come visit!!

Thanks for sharing your apartment views and updates! It's the next best thing to being there :) I'm glad that it has worked out so well, although I know you miss Bobby and Ethel. A little taste of what it's like for those who miss YOU.

Lots of love,
amy :)
